The NZ Sea Charts are all spatially positioned in Tumonz 9 – you can easily display any selection of charts simultaneously and use it as a backdrop to do all your marine map editing. Below is a quick visual guide to using the NZ Sea Charts map book. Click on any image below to enlarge it.
Select one of the NZ Sea Chart styles to view the sea charts.
Open the NZ Sea Charts map book in the Map Books Sidebar page – this shows all the available sea charts (and related documents).
Select a chart (by clicking on the chart map button or selecting the link in the sidebar), and display the chart on the map using the option in the map book (below the chart thumbnail).
You can zoom in and move around the chart using the normal Tumonz map functions. Toggle all the chart boundary lines & icons using the options in the map book.
Turn on as many charts as you need – all the charts are positioned spatially and overlapping charts will all display in the correct location (including charts that have embedded smaller charts).
Some charts cover a very small area at a high resolution – simply zoom in to the view that you need.
The permanent / temporary notices to mariners are included as links in the map book; just click on any notice to display it in a PDF viewer.
