Spreadsheet DataLink is available for TUMONZ 3. Either order the Business package or if you have TUMONZ 3 already you can order the DataLink as a separate module. Spreadsheet DataLink allows you to import an existing spreadsheet OR create a spreadsheet in TUMONZ 3 and geo-code each spreadsheet row. Locations are referenced on the map with configurable Icons.

TUMONZ Professional is now available. This package provides the Professional executable along with the Property module and High Coverage aerials. The professional provides import/export ESRI shape support, capability to generate aerial photos modules and Spreadsheet DataLink. To find out more click here.

TUMONZ 3 Code Moves to Delphi 2006.

We have moved the Tumonz code from Delphi 6 to Delphi 2006. This has been a very substantial task but worth the effort. Now it is back to business with a catch up on new developments; some important new ones below and a lot more coming up for TUMONZ 3.

New features in the free update, v3.33 for TUMONZ 3 customers.

1. Added an ‘Auto Save’ to save your map objects and icons to file. The time interval can be set under the Settings page.
2. Included ‘Add text’ to the Draw Menu to give a quick add text option.
3. An advanced setting to enter search paths for map data files if you don’t want to store them locally yet still have them load in Tumonz 3.
4. Allow Copy/Paste of Map Objects, Icons, Layers and Folders in the My Data page.
5. Copy to clipboard includes all ‘overlays’ (grids, scale, edit layer, objects, icons).
6. Sending data to Google Earth. Send data at Folder, Layer and Object levels.
7. Added a new Wizard for those of you who want to set map styles for compound layers such as Contour lines (you will see a button for the wizard when you select the layer folder in ‘Current Map Layers’ in the Settings page.).
8. Load your own Aerial photos or geo-referenced raster layers. You will still need to have the aerial photos files (cmi extension). These files can now be created by anyone who has a copy of TUMONZ 3 Professional. Photos can be added and saved as a Map Style.
9. You will need Build 3.33 or later if you are purchasing the Whangarei District Aerials.
10. When you run the update, you will find some changes in your available Map Styles. E.g. Legal data on aerial photos. Also more layers have been included and turned to ‘Not show’ allowing you to change the Show/Not Show setting in the Settings page.
11. A few clients have experienced problems with the measurement units. This has resulted from a crash at closing. Version 3.33 and later will correct this problem.
12. Changes to the distance/bearing display for line segments. Controls are now in the Settings page.

TUMONZ 3 Professional is available

TUMONZ 3 Professional is now available on the purchase page. T3 Professional is more suited to the business customer. It comes standard with the Property module and all high coverage aerial photos sets. T3 Professional allows the import/exporting of ESRI shape map layers. It also allows the transformation of various image files (with world files) to the Tumonz proprietary cmi file format (to facilitate rapid loading and rendering). The image files generated in the Professional version can be loaded by Standard TUMONZ 3 users. The Professional also allows greater control over the render layers.

Updating to TUMONZ 3

If you are still using TUMONZ version 1 or 2, besides missing out on the major advances TUMONZ 3 provides, along with the new types of databases (Satellite imagery, NZMS 260 map scans, new Names and Roads data sets etc) you will be running very old vector and names data sets. Unfortunately we cannot recompile Versions 1 & 2 so cannot supply new updated data sets and new modules. You can update at any time to TUMONZ 3 on the purchase page, but please enter your old CD Key so that new keys will be automatically assigned for modules such as Aerial Photos (i.e. you do not need to re-purchase the aerial photo modules you already have).
New Property Update is out for all version of TUMONZ

TUMONZ 3 Property includes owner and company search & Property Reports extracted straight from the LINZ legal & titles registry. (We receive the full LINZ Legal & Title database each month and incorporate it into the current Property module.)

Whangarei District Aerial photos for TUMONZ 3

This high resolution regional aerial photo set is a collection of ortho photos spanning several years up to 2004 and is at 0.75 and 0.125 pixel resolution.

New Roads

Roads have just been updated and will be supplied for TUMONZ 3 (updated roads are supplied within the Property module and the ‘Update module’). The route planning files are updated with the roads and these will be available as a free download. (Note; the route planning files are not the road layers visible on the map but are the underlying invisible structure that handles the route solving.)

Using Icons in TUMONZ 3 tutorial

This is a new tutorial available within the Downloads page of the website. Icons are a very powerful tool and it is worth brushing up on them and checking out what you can do with Icons.

Other Free Downloads

There are 3 tutorials on the Support/Tutorials page. The ‘Beginners Tutorial’ provides a convenient half page on each of the main functions so even if you are a skilled user, it is worth downloading as a reference. The ‘Real estate’ tutorial is targeted for those interested in property. The ‘Map Building’ tutorial is a must for map building and map editing. (The Beginners Guide and the Map Building tutorials have just been revised so download again if you have previously done so).

Download the free 2007 Tide Viewer (from the Downloads/All Files page) if you purchased TUMONZ in 2006 or before.

What’s coming up

We expect to have the new Auckland region ortho photos within the next month or so. This module will only be available for TUMONZ 3. These photos were taken during 2006/7 and are of high resolution. They cover urban areas within the jurisdiction of the following local authorities: Auckland City Council, Auckland Regional Council, Franklin District Council, Manukau City Council, North Shore City Council, Papakura District Council, Rodney District Council and Waitakere City Council.

Datalink for TUMONZ 3 will be available shortly.
