Follow the steps below to get the most out of the NZ property data built into Tumonz. There are some troubleshooting tips toward the end of the section. Click on any image to enlarge it.
To show property data on the map select the Map/Styles tab (1), then choose the Vector with Property Information map style (2) – the map style that is currently in use is indicated in the caption bar.
Once the Property Information style is selected, you can zoom in on any part of New Zealand to see the legal parcel information displayed.
When there is sufficient space Tumonz will display the owner information and survey marks. Zoom in further to see more information.
If you zoom in far enough a button will display on each property (1) – Left-Click the button to get a property report, or Ctrl + Left-Click this to get more options (2).
In the Property Report window you can select any part of the text and then use the context menu (Right-Click) to copy the text to use elsewhere (1). You can also use the Title/ID selector (2) to look up a report for any property for which you have the Property Title.
One extra option (Ctrl + Left-Click) is the Property Encumbrancee Legend – select this to see a legend for the color overlays which indicate the financial institutions which has a registered encumbrance on that property.
You can change the color of each overlay – this may be handy to highlight a few institutions. Simply select the Settings tab (1) and then select Encumbrancee Overlay Colors (2).
If the property information is not showing, you can use the Update/Content Manager in the Tools menu (1). The Update Manager will show unless it is already open in the icon tray (2). In the Update Manager you can select the Installation Detail option to see the installed version details.
The Installation Detail view in the Update Manager shows the version of each installed dataset.
